What Do We Believe?

We Believe:

  • that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16;  2 Peter 1:21;  1 Thess. 2:13)
  • that God, the Father, God, the Son, and Holy Spirit are three personalities, but ONE God. (Philippians 2:6;  John 1:1;  John 10:20; 1 John 5:7)
  • in the deity of Jesus Christ, and that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death (died in our place) on the cross, rose again bodily, has ascended back to Heaven, and is now sitting at the right hand of God.  In the future, He will return to earth to bring us–His Bride (those who have received Him)–to Heaven for all of Eternity. (Matt. 1:18-25;  Luke 1:26-35;  Mark 16:19; Matt. 26:64; Rev. 3:21)
  • been created in the likeness, and image of God. Through Adam’s sin, all mankind fell.  Our hope (confidence) is to believe in Christ’s redemptive work, and receive His Life by faith in Him. (Rom. 5:12; Rom. 3:23; Rom. 3:9-10; Jn. 3:8; Gal. 3:13-14; Eph.  2:8; Gal. 3:13-14; 1 Jn. 5:1:12; John 3:3-5; Titus 3:5;  Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:15)
  • that every person who receives Jesus as their savior is immediately baptized with the Holy Spirit, and immediately has access to all the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit. (1 Cor 12: 13  Acts 2:38   Acts 11:16-17)
  • that we are not “dual-natured” when we believe and received Christ.  In our spirit, we’ve been created completely brand new, as in a whole new species.  Our soul, (the mind, the will, and the emotions) have not yet been completely transformed, but are in the process of transformation by renewing our mind on the Word of God according to Romans 12:1-2. Our bodies are not renewed, and we will receive brand new ones for all Eternity.
  • when Jesus died to pay for our sins, He died ONE time for ALL time and took away all sins: past, present, and future.  We were judged and found guilty, and sentenced to death.  Christ came to take our punishment for us, and offering HIS LIFE in exchange for ours.  For those who receive His Life and  are now, in Christ, there remains no condemnation ( all sins are forgiven).  (Hebrews 9:28;  Hebrews 10:12;  1 Peter 3:18;  Rom. 8:1)
  • all people will live forever.  Only those who have received Christ as their savior will live forever in Heaven in the presence of God. (1 Thess. 4:16-17; Acts 1:11)
  • that baptism by immersion is something God desires Believers to experience.  It is an external sign and testimony of what Jesus has done for us.  (Matt. 28:19;  Rom. 6:4;  Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36-39)
  • salvation, our English word that comes from the Greek word, “sozo” means: saved, healed, delivered, prosperous, whole, peace.  Notice that these are all past tense words, meaning that they are already done and are IN Christ, who is IN us.
  • that when Jesus indwelt you, that you received everything He is, everything He has, and everything He does, you can do, too. (1 Jn. 4:17b)
  • we have been given authority over the dark kingdom.  We have been given authority to rule and reign in this life.  Problems will come, but we have the authority to overcome.  (Rom. 5:17; Mark 16:17-18;  Mark 13:34; Matt. 10:8;  Matt. 17:20; 1 Jn. 5:4; Rev. 1:5b-6)
